Sorry to say I don't get to drive my Stang as much as I would love to. Some times it sits in the garage for weeks. Well I haven't had any trouble starting it yet but did just check the color of the "eye" on the battery just for the hell of it and it was YELLOW. Just stuck my charger on it to be safe, have a Rally to go to Sunday. But I was thinking about getting a Battery Tender Plus for it. Anyone using one ?

If you leave the car sitting that much you for sure need the battery tender, and don't just use a trickle charger, they don't work for that type of thing.
One of the benefits -- I guess -- of the alternate side parking restrictions in NYC is that I have to move my car three times a week. Even if I don't actually use the car for weeks at a time -- which happens pretty regularly -- it at least has to get started and moved to a new parking spot every couple of days.

Funny you should remark about that, we are having a Family Reunion in Islip and plan on staying a few days in Brooklyn would love to drive the Stang from Florida but HATE the thought of having it on the street in Brooklyn. Would like to bring it back home in one piece with no scratches.

Other than the thick coatings of salt I keep having to take it to the car wash to get off, I haven't had any problems at all with dings or scratches. Same thing with my old Mercedes I had before the Mustang. As long as you use a rubber bumper guard on the back (and, preferable, draped across the front) of the car (since people definitely tap you all the time parallel parking) you'll be fine.
I'm actually driving down to Miami this summer; maybe I'll pass you on the way!

You will need more then rubber bumper guards down in Miami. They TOTALLY don't know how to drive there, I know I lived there for 30 years, glad to get out

i use the battery tender junior for my bike, and i leave it plug in all the time for the last 3months and no issues! my bike started right up!
i think you need the battery tender plus for you car! buy it
I have used a battery tender on my Harley and another on my John Deere for the last 10 years or so. They sit in the shop all winter and are always cranky starting in the spring, but the battery has never failed to start them. I also think that the fully charged battery lasts longer before needing replacement.

It's never good to let a partly charged or dead battery sit.. that'll kill it, especially if it freezes..
if you just move your car, unless you leave it running for ~20 mins it's not going to charge. you're just going to keep depleting it each time you start it until it dies and freezes.
Battery tender is the way to go if you don't drive it for extended periods.
difference between battery tender and trickle charger?
best I know is that traditionally a "trickle" charge just trickles a low voltage charge to the battery as long as it's hooked up and left on past whats needed it can eventually cook the battery.
a "tender/minder" type charger floats ... it trickles the charge until the battery reaches the proper charge then it shuts off, then as voltage drops to a certain level it kicks back on and levels things off.
BTW... what color should the eye be? mines sort of burnt orange. not started in a week (tender not on) the voltage shows 11.8v. still started the car fine.

Mine was the same color but voltage was about 12.2 I REALLY don't trust the "eye" site thingie.
THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE WEB:
Better late than never!!! The Magic Eye® that is used in Motorcraft batteries provides 4 stages of indication, they are:
1. Green: battery is charged and the acid level is good.
2. Yellow: Battery is partially dis-charged and the acid level is good. Re-charge the battery or drive the vehicle.
3. Red: Battery is dis-charged and the acid level is good. Charge the battery.
4. Clear and bright: Acid level is low!!! Add distilled water if possible. If not, change out the battery. Do not charge or jump start the battery!!!
While the Magic Eye® is only located in one cell, it is still quite accurate for indicating the state of charge of all cells as they are within 95% of the same condition. If there is a catastrophic failure such as an internal short circuit, the battery would be bad, but the eye would still show green as the density of the acid is still technically correct. This is very rare.
