Man....An increasing number of people are reporting this issue. The paint is bubbling due to an apparently unsolved corrosion problem dating back to the 2007 model year. There are a couple of threads on just this topic a few places below this one.

Did you go get it fixed? If so how did the whole process turn out for you?

I have the same issue on the lip of the hood of my 2011. Called local Ford dealer, they told me that I have to take the car to a dealer with a body shop. There, they take digital photos and send them to Ford. Ford, then decides if the problem was caused by damage to the paint, such as stone nicks, or bird droppings, or is it the fault of the paint. I haven't gotten around to taking it there yet. Thinking I might end up getting the run-around. If I'm not mistaking, there is a tsb from Ford on this.

Worst part is that this will simply keep recurring even if the dealership does "fix" it. Painting it again won't solve the underlying corrosion problem.

To those who have not followed this issue it starts on the underside front lip of hood where the crimp is.

So keep an eye on that, they will tell you its seam sealer..they will tell you its not perforation..

Hello Members,

If you have not had your vehicle diagnosed, I recommend you make an appointment with your dealers as soon as possible. Once you have, please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can get this escalated to the customer service manager for your area and have it looked into.

I would love to have ford take a look at it. But mine occurred after my warranty expired and I can't afford to pay for the hood to be reprinted. Thank you though!

You should bring it in to your Ford dealer and speak to the Service Manager about this, howisit305hp. He is in the best position to look into this for you. If you need further assistance, don’t hesitate to PM me.
