Has anyone done this yet? I like the quiet exhaust when cruising but also like the rumble when i pull up to car shows with the ghost cam tune.

Anyone have any experience with electric cut outs? Do they wear out fast and start to leak at all?

Well, don't do it for power because you'll likely lose a lot.
It's been done on GTs. No idea about longevity.

The only TB cutouts I'd be interested in would be if they were operated with a window switch and only opened at high RPM.

Part of the thrill of a nasty cam was the mechanical tingle induced downstream in the tubular headers and (less so) chambered mufflers. Cutouts will sound like crap (by modern standards, especially), and will not produce the Killer effect you are after.

It's a shame many weren't around for the sensual experience of a corked up big-cam small block. It actually was what you want !

i'll post a video soon on my xforce varex exhausts , their universal so you have to weld them but they do the job! each axleback has an electric cut out , while cruising its like having no headers no axleback sounds exactly stock but when i open them up its louder than the roush exhaust in my opinion and with that nasty cam sound its a beast

You think it sounds like crap maybe, but if you have no cats, and run of the dumps in the back with the MPT ghost cams most people even older generation car enthusiasts think i swapped a small block stroker in the car with the way it sounds, once you get on it though it doesnt, but at idle these motors sound like a 2valve with a massive cam!

This is not for performance gains, just sound and looks. I have more power with the mufflers on.

ive also been looking at getting cut outs since ive had to add resonators and hi flow cats to my borla headers ghost cam set up... i miss the insanity of how it sounded when it was still offroad.

It still sounds mean though, but there is nothing like an off-road exhaust.

I figure it is well work the investment. Even with just mufflers on people swear its a v8 when they hear me pull up. They are always saying no no that has to be a sleeper and you took the 5.0 emblems off. I have to keep telling them no its a v6 and they never believe me until i pop the hood. It is great!
