This is her fair weather daily driver so I didn't want to fully lower it.
It dropped the rear 3/4" which is basically dead level.
It kind of gives it a lowered feel.
Everything feels exactly the same handling wise. It might be slightly stiffer in the rear...but its really hard to tell.
I did the same thing to my '07 GT500 and couldn't notice any difference other than the rear wheel well to tire gap was tighter.
I think 140 bucks just for rear springs is a little steep.... I think the same thing can be acomplished with Steeda rear springs for a little less money.
I bought a complete set of springs off a guy that never used them. I plan to throw the front springs in my car.
This looks like another nice option to the 55D rear springs use to level out the car. I do believe any rear option you choose will have stiffer spring rates over stock. You most likely won't notice it in daily driving, but can change the driving dynamics under spirited or track driving conditions.
'93 Performance Red Mustang GT Hatchback 347, Novi 2000, Tremec TKO 600, too much to list. 7.08 @ 102.3 MPH (1.697 60') in the 1/8 mile on my first 'shakedown' pass.
'11 Race Red Mustang V6 Coupe 3.7, M6, 3.73 gears, JLT CAI, BBK TB, Cyclone Performance ported intakes, Lund Racing 93 tune, BBK LT's, O/R X-pipe, Flowmaster 'Force II' axleback, Shaftmasters aluminum DS, UPR LCA's & UCA, J&M PHB, Strange 10-way rear shocks, 305 RWHP & 280 RWTQ, 12.63 @ 108.86 MPH (1st NA 3.7 V6 in the 12's!!)
HELL YES!!!
Actually she never even noticed....D'OH!
The wheels are factory polished 18" bullitts. I think they actually "fit" this updated body over the older cars they came on.
z28th1s had them on his '11. Actually it was his car that made me push my wife out of her '00 GT and into an '11 V6!! I have been waiting for the right deal on a set of polished 18" bullitts ever since!
I'm still looking for a nice pair of used 255/45/18's to replace the used 235/50/18's I stuck on the rear.
I'm also thinking about a set of spacers.... H&R also makes some quality bolt on wheel spacers. I think a set of 25mm spacers all the way around would make the bullitts look even better if they were flush with the wheel wells. I really don't care for how sucked in they are now.
For a 8.5" wheel, I wish they had less backspacing. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-h-r-30mm.html
Next I need some J&M LCA's because my old GT500 LCA's did NOTHING to stop the MASSIVE wheel hop this car has....
After that, some kind of shifter....maybe tint...and I think it will be done for a while.
It is funny because I don't tell the wife ANYTHING and she typically never notices.... Hell even when I put the wheels on she didn't really notice, she thought I polished the stock 17s!!
And she definitely never noticed the hood stripes... Which is all OK with me, she'll never question the money I spend cause she never see's it!
Here are a couple before pictures with the stock rear springs...
looks great and its an easy install for sure. Just look at the car from the back and make sure the axle didnt shift too much. I know my car, I only dropped an inch all around and my rear shiffted I needed an adjustable panhard bar to center it again.
