I'm pretty much done with exterior mods on my car and want a little more performance, but I'm at a loss as to what I should get next. Background info:
I don't autocross my car and never will. It's a daily driver. I drive 90% city, 10% highway. I don't bring my car to the drag strip, but I would like to soon. I don't plan on going forced induction, ever. I plan on giving my car an unsafe and irresponsible top speed romp one day. I have to get any further mods installed by a shop because I don't have a lift or ramps, so DIY is out of the question. The roads I drive on are very very crappy as well. I can't have my car crazy loud constantly, only when I really get on it. I bring my car to shows very frequently.
Based on those tidbits of info, what do you all recommend my next and most important mod to be out of the choices given?

4.10 gears to start. I'm waiting for SoCal2v to chime in on this one. Get a tuner, or/x, car back exhaust, long tube headers, nitrous, the list goes on and on.
I have brand new Ford racing 4.10s that I can sell you. I'm not installing them because I plan to get a snail in the near future. So the 4.10s and f.i are not a good mix.

3.55s
Or better yet, get some Konis Blase, that way you can strafe Alligator Bayou road from time to time
Alligator Bayou's a blast. Just watch for the out for the occasional motorcycle, some of them don't know how to keep their head out of the oncoming lane on those tight turns.

If I was going to do gears, I'd do 3.55s. My 3.31 is near perfect, but if I was to drag and daily drive, I'd compromise. But that's just me. Love my shaft.

I'd recommend 3.73 gears since they are a happy medium between 3.55 and 4.10s. I'd go 4.10 with an automatic and 3.73s with a stick. I get over 28mpg with my 3.73s on the highway, 24 in mixed driving. If I'm driving sanely. Just keep your car under 100mph until you get the driveshaft and you should be fine.

Sweet, looks like I know what I'll be going with!!
Louisiana guys: where is alligator bayou rd.? I've always been wondering where some nice evening drive spots are around here. I assumed there were none...
To everyone else: What should I be on the lookout for when I get my car back from the gear/ds installation? I want to make sure and test drive it before I pay them. What are possible issues with the install of the gear or DS that I could notice from a test drive afterwards? I hear gear whine is a big issue, but I don't know what that would sound or feel like from inside the car. Any pointers?

Seriously though, DS and 3.55s would be my vote. (I have to drive 100 miles round trip each day to work and I don't want to completely destroy my MPGs).

Definitely would want a driveshaft if you plan on going 3.73's or 4.10's over 100. Don't want to chance breaking your car. Since you want to drag, make sure to get the safety loop too!
You got good tires? Tires will make the car feel like a sports car and grip just about everything you throw at it. They are fun, but do cost a bit to have the fun (IE. drag slicks for the track, or fun street slicks for the track as well)
