Another vote for the Flowmasters here. I'm 60, and although my mental age has been assessed at 15, they are pretty mild and at speed you won't know they're there with any ambient sound source at all in the cabin (Sirius XM, your woman, etc.)
Replica's suggestion just above is a great one, too - air moan from up front, and just the stock metallic tingle out back when on the gas.

Blaster, how was the install on that? Any fitment issues? And where did you get the system?

I got them from a local auto parts chain in western Canada. I think I paid about $350 for them. Fitment was an issue but I knew that going in. I had heard there were problems with the right side so I emailed Dynomax and they said they were aware of the problem and had ceased production until they figured out the problem. They said everything that was in the stores at that time would have a problem. A friend of mine works at a body shop so we used the hoist there and after some heating and bending we got it looking pretty good.
If it wasn't for that, which I assume is fixed, the job would have taken a total of half an hour. The stock system came out without a glitch and the left side went in the same way. The right side should be the same now.
If there had not been a hoist it would be a different story getting the pipes over the axle. A lot of people on this site talked about unhooking the axle and lowering it to get the pipe in. I think I would have tried removing the brace that goes across above the axle and see if that gave enough room before I unhooked the axle.
I say Frpp touring, borla touring, or the GT500, for the price, the GT500's are great, but I'm pretty sure you need to get them welded in. I have the magnaflow streets, and they have some drone. If I had it to do over, I would have got something different.
The gt500s only require resizing of the pipes on the actual mufflers. And after the price of taking them to a shop to resize the pipes it's still cheaper than most axlebacks
I don't suppose they said anything about recalling the ones with the issue? With my luck I'd end up with the old ones.

Send them an email. They stopped production about Aug 2011 so I doubt there are any left of the problem ones. Plus several members said Dynomax covered the cost of getting them fitted properly if they sent in a receipt from a shop.
