Default Airaid Cold Air Breather Hose Fitment issue

Hey guys,

So I just installed my Airaid CAI and I am fairly happy with the noise difference and performance but one thing really irritated me. My breather hose won't line up correctly causing the little silver part to hang to the left making it look out of place in the gourmet. Basically it kind of leans to the left and looks off and not completely straight in. Anyone else have had this issue? Ill upload a pic of it tomorrow in the sun light.

I recently installed the Roush CAI and the breather hose does the same thing. I have not noticed any problems from it fitting like this. Have not gotten any error lights from it.

Yeah, I understand. I was surprised to see it fit this way too.

As long its on all the way it should be fine. I'll take a look at mine when I get home and see if it looks the same.

i suppose it wouldnt be a problem if its sealing properly, but it doesnt look like it is. Perhaps you need to cut a zip tie and let some slack on that sensor? I dont really see any other way that it would pull up on the right like that unless something was pushing to the left.

Default Move the pipe

Move slightly the air pipe back and forth (loosen the clamps first) until it lines up properly, then push sensor in. That should work

Mine was a little bit off too, as long as the connection snaps in place you're good. Sometimes it might be necessary to check the connector clip to ensure a locking connection. If the connection is locked, thumbs up.

I've been barking in the wrong forum with regard to the Airaid CAI. I can't make up my mind on the purchase. Is the pep really that much better? How does the noise under the hood change? I don't like engine groaning under pressure and would be unhappy with it if it increased the groan or introduced a new noise. Let me know...

Mine does the same thing. Kinda annoyed me too. I have a real bad high pitch whistle sound from my Airaid that I thought might be caused by this. I haven't gotten around to mess with it to see if that is in fact the cause. It would be nice if they made the placement a few millimeters back so things would have lined up better. I was thinking of modifying the tubing to try get it to fit better.

A high pitch whistle is a characteristic of a CAI, and is not caused by the pcv connection.
