Default Rear Pinion Seal/oil injectors

Hey guys,
1st time poster here and I love this site! I dropped off my car at the dealer b/c I noticed some spots on my garage floor under the differential. They told me the pinion was shot? How could this be I have 51,000 miles never done a brake stand or abused my car. The other thing is I told them I hear a tick in my engine and they said it is down oil and that it needs new oil injectors. Really? They asked me how often I change the oil and I said 7500 miles and they said that was too long to wait shld be done at 5,000. We went back and forth I said manual says 10,000 and they did not agree.
This is not my 1st mustang and I feel like I am getting the runaround again like when I had my 851/2 SVO. Thanks for the help

You didn't mention the year or engine in your car but this forum is for 2011-up 3.7L V6 cars.

For those cars the oil needs to be changed when the car tells you on your dash. 10,000 miles or 12 months is the maximum if the car hasn't already told you to change it based on the conditions under which it was driven.

As for pinions, things wear out. Maybe you drew a marginal part. Bad luck.

As for oil injectors, you may have misunderstood since these cars don't have any such part to the best of my knowledge.

If you are getting the run-around, I would contact Deysha... send her a PM with your information. She is a busy individual, but she will contact you!

I had my pinion seal go after 45,000km. It happened while I was on a road trip of about 4000km, lucky that I caught it when I did. There is a small breather nibble on the top of the axle that allows for air to escape if pressure builds up (ie, hot temperature, running it hard, etc). This plugged up with dirt/grim so it blew out the front seal.

Hi CSX65,

You’re more than welcome to PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this to the customer service manager for your area.
