Wondering If I could change tracks with steering audio controls when using AUX input
I bought a base 2013 Mustang, my car does not have a SYNC. Was wondering if there is a way I can change tracks with the steering wheel controls when I am using my MP3 player as the source.

Definitely won't work. As others have said the aux cable only carries audio signals.
What I did before changing out my head unit was to run the cable from the console into the cup holders and keep my ipod there (there's actually an indent in the console's lid to do just this). That way it's very accessible and still out of the way.
He means plug the iPod in the Aux in thats in the back door of the center console. I have Sync and I changed all my audio gear and got rid of it. My steering wheel controls work with the aftermarket gear too.

Any response will be appreicated.
The answer to your question is no. It's almost criminal that MP3 player control isn't available in the base radio as standard in a 2013 car. Hell, even the cheapest POS after market radio for $79.99 at Crutchfield has iPod control.......
