Me and a friend were out on the mexican highways tonight and we did a sweet high speed run. Wondering if it should have happened how it did? Thought maybe it would have been closer.
We started at 70 mph, in 3rd gear at about 5.5k rpms, i'm not sure where he was, he is an automatic. He pulled ahead at first until i shifted into 4th gear where i took the lead back and then held it into 5th gear. We let out at about 138mph, i was still in the lead. I would say i had about a 3/4-car lead on him, but im really not sure i was watching the road more than him.

Your thread title kind of makes it sound like you lost lol. Why start a race at 70mph? Seems kind of high.
If you won then yes, you should have won. It sounds closer than I'd expect. I figured you'd be further out in front than you describe.

Your closer geared trans and 3.73 gears definitely give you an advantage. I would have thought you would have won by more!

It was just kind of spur of the moment, i wanted to slow down more but we just started at 70. Sorry for misleading thread title. I indeed did win i just wanted to make sure he wasn't like sandbagging it or something. Will probably be at the track this friday with the same guy we'll race the 1/4 and see how it goes. Why in the hell would his d/s be thanked for the victory? Because they ran to 138mph? Lol
Because the DSS driveshaft is significantly lighter than the stock unit. Less rotating mass would allow he engine to rev more freely and send a bit more power to the wheels as well.

Who knows? Maybe you need a driver mod? He has an auto you dont, its kinda hard to say wheather you should have won or not, these cars compared to 05-10 Gt's are very evenly matched usually a drivers race espesially with similar mods
