I went with the FRPP sport mufflers because they were Ford parts. When I first installed them they sounded just a little more aggressive than stock and had none of the aftermarket problems. Once I added the longtubes, they came into their own, The car now sound aggressive, like a performance car should, and still no adverse effects. A lot of the guys I hang around with have other set ups, and all of them like the sound of mine. The car has very good manners and when you want it, it is there.

I've heard the Borla Ataks with LTs, Catted X, and Resonators. Those were a lot louder with much more popping. Deep too but I dont think youd really be into having your mustang sound that way. Atleast from what youve described.

If you don't like aftermarket exhaust sounds but want your mustang to sound like a mustang when you get on it, just get an Airaid intake.
If you want your mustang to make sounds all the time (including idle and cruise), then get exhaust.
watch from 15 seconds to 20 seconds or so to hear an Airaid hole shot with the windows down:
I get many compliments on how good my car sounds from other autocrossers.

I personally like the Borla Touring system, but I'm having quite the issue with the cost. It seems... way too expensive for something that doesn't really do anything. Firstworldproblems
