Thanks. I have a couple of pullers. How does it "grab" the pulley? Is the puller specific to fords or is is a generic pump puller puller?? What do I ask them for?
The pulley is specialized just for the PS Pulley. Pulls from the center hub area, where you see the groove, Press is exerted on the end of the shaft to pull the pressed on pulley off.
Have you Auto Zone guys help, they have a loan a tool---Asked the oldest gut there, he might know what to do.
It grabs the small outer portion thats grooved, a two part sleeve that fits over it. It is a specialized tool, not to be confused with gear pullers. The kit comes with diff size sleeves to remove all manufacturers, not Ford specific. You need this tool or you will screw something up. Also comes with the portion to reinstall the pulley.
