The intake manifold is notorious for cracking (no thanks to it being plastic). The headunit (cd player/radio) is also known to take a sh#$ on you and give an error thus becoming a "brick".
Besides that, its really just the usual maintnance kinda things to watch out for. Keep the MAF clean to steer clear of a check engine light. Keep fluids changed as needed.
I thought the intake manifold problem was fixed in 01 or something. I believe a 2003 intake manifold has the aluminum crossover where the problems used to lie.
Other than that, just make sure you do the usual maintenance. These engines are pretty solid if taken care of properly. There's a reason Ford puts them in the police car Crown Vics.
Yeah the thread is mine for some reason I wasn't able to post a thread with this account perhaps its cuz i had a link in it. Well the 2003 I'm planing on buying is GT Deluxe it has 53k miles and they're asking 11,988 for it is it a good price or a rip off?
No got it from a private owner. Screw dealers, they are horrible these days. My car, at a dealer, would be more around 14k. Just copy and paste your link.
