Default 2003 Mustang vs. 2004 Mustang Gt Differences

I have a 2004 mustang GT and looking to add a few more mods (intake pipe, chip, springs and struts, etc.) It seems every first pick on my list turns out to be for 99-2003 or 2005+ mustangs only.

Does anyone know why 2004 seems to be an odd year? Are there different sensor or suspension differences?
Maybe the manufactures just forgot to list the year 2004?

O4 was a changeover year, with some tweaks that made it unique.

Hit us with what you want to do and I'll see what I can come up with.

Well, as far as the suspension and pulleys, I've decided to go with something else. I'm still looking for a good CAI. I have the roush shaker hood that brings cold air to the factory airbox but would still like to get rid of the corregated intake tube. I would like the CAI's filter to sit where my airbox is now due to the ducting from my hood scoop. Ive seen several that will work but the one I like most is the AEM Brute Force. Every online store Ive been to has it for 99-03 and 05+ Mustang GT's only.

It sure seems like it would work. What do you think?

Actually, wouldn't you know, I just found it at jegs that says it's for 1996-2004, of course after I posted.
I know on the 05+ mustang GT the intake is mounted differently, and have heard the MAF and computer are more sensitive to the air temp. Didn't know if this might be the situation with the 2004 mustang GT.

OK, glad you found what you were looking for.

No, you don't have the same intake layout (or issues) as the 05's.

Good luck with your plans. You MIGHT have some fitment issues with the Roush ram air. You won't know for sure until you try to do the install. Sometimes the CAI tubing routes in a path that is obstructed by the Ram air intake. You may find that the size of the tubing is larger, too, and this may hit on something.

Its the same story with lots of aftermarket systems (positive displacement superchargers like the Keene Bell or Whipple cause similar problems sometimes).

I had wondered about a supercharger and seemed like I'd be limited to a centrifugal type unless I removed the scoop and bought a new hood. Seems like most Mach 1 owners tend to get Vortec or Paxton. I'll have to dig more into that when/if the time comes.
Thanks for the info

True. The Ram Air setup is incompatible with the roots type blowers.

I have a friend with a Mach 1 who runs a VorTech - works very well and looks pretty.
