Are they 3.27's you have right now? I'm confused on the 3.23's but I'm not really well versed on the 99-04 Stangs.
Do you have an auto or stick? A lot of people will say with an auto to go ahead and jump to 4.10's. If you're going to the trouble of a gear swap you might as well upgrade a couple of steps.
I have some 4.10's sitting in my garage that are going on my 96GT this Spring. I have a stick but I don't see long trips in her any more. Of course, I have stock 2.73's and they just don't do it for me in the heavy ragtop. I wan't all the low end "umph" that I can get and MPG isn't really a concern for me ALTHOUGH some say you can actually get decent mileage still even with the steeper gears as you'll be upshifting more often. Of course staying off the pedal as well.
