Default Will a scoop fit on a hood without one?

This is my first post so ill start off by saying whats up to everyone. Ive been checkin out this site for awhile now and i def dig it. I have a 2000 GT but it doesnt have the scoop. If i buy a scoop will it just bolt on or do i have buy a diff hood? Will it cover the mini scoop spot?

Hello! Try going to www.fordaccessories.com and I think they'll have parts that might be a little more costly but you'll know they're going to fit! Scoops are great! I have one! I just wish it was a functional scoop.

Scoop really do add a lot to the whole stance of the stang. Just don't be like this ricer up at college and have his hood scoop lopsided and over on the right side of his hood. Gotta center it :

Welcome Home to AFM!

There are a number of scoops that will bolt on,including the larger version that was stock on these cars in later years. All of these will require you drill some holes, and some come with hardware and a drilling template, while others do not.

If you need for the scoop to be functional, that is another consideration.

I really like the CDC Ram Air kits that they make for these cars. You get the Mach 1 ram air kit, and you use your stock hood (which of course has to be cut out to form the opening for the Ram Air scoop).

Unlike virtually all the other options, this one also gives you more power and better cooling and breathing for your motor. The gains are not huge, but respectable, and the look is classic Mustang.
