Exclamation Need HELP and ANSWERS about my 2001 Stang.. Please Read

I was wondering if anyone could help me, Names Laurie and I own a 2001 Mustang and i noticed today that my passenger side door won't close quite right. I've never slammed the door, nor have I ever leaned on the glass. Now i know the car is 7 years old, but it's tip top shape... and when i close the door it's like the glass itself is rubbing against the framing above the window seal and it's bowing out the bottom of my window... I have to push really hard on the door to close it and roll the window down a little, then get the door completely closed i have to roll the window back up.. walk around the car.. and push on the window a little so it's snug to the weather striping like it should be. I'm hoping someone can help me... because the ford company said it's 300 dollars just to tell me what's wrong, and if i know what is wrong.. i can pretty much fix it. I'm wondering if someone has maybe had the same problem... my husband said that maybe the door wasn't completely level... but i'm not too sure...

Thank You!

Laurie

Sounds like the door striker may need to be adjusted. It might of loosen up & moved. The striker is in the aft part of the door frame, try & loosen the bolts and move it out just alittle. Do not move it up or down this will create another problem. Close the door slowly and make sure the striker is level with the door catch.
