Default 2000 Mustang convertible with leak in back

I just bought a 200 Ford Mustang Convertiblae for my daughter. It is a pretty nice car. I bought as is and insatlled some speakers last weekend and found that I have a water leak in the car. It looks like it is coming in from the back as I have a puddle behind the seats, and the back carpeting is pretty wet. Any ideas of how to look for where it is leaking and how to get it fixed?

Do you have water in the area below the back window?
If so, the rear window glass seal is bad.

If not, it sounds like your drain holes are clogged.

Believe it or not, it's normal for water to enter the car.
Most of it, however, should drain out the drain holes.

If you pull out the back seat cushion, the bottom one, and look behind the speakers in the sides of the car, you will see a slit on each side.
These clog up, and water backs up.

They should be in FRONT of the rear wheels, I believe.

You can also see them from underneath the car.

Clean them out and chances are you will be fine.

Default water leak in 2000 mustang convert

I have a similar problem with my 2000 mustang convertible, wondering if the solution is same. I can hear water sloshing around the back after a heavy rain . Some water dripped into the trunk. No water in back seat.
thanks
