Im looking at buyin a pair of drag radials in a month. I have never had them on my car but Im looking at the Nitto 555's. Any of you that have used drag radials, let me know your opinions on the different ones. Thanks.

The bfgoodrich stick amazing, they also run a little wider compared to the NIttos, the nittos as quadcammer said will last a lot longer, as far as sticking, you MUST heat the hell out of them, then they hook. As far as I'm concerened, neither make a great tire for any worth while daily driving. I pipcked up a set of 98 Cobra rims for 109 each and put the dr's on when I need them. Just my 2cents.

These are going to be on my psuedo-daily driver...which really isnt a daily driver..as I have a work car (Crown Vic) which I always drive. The Mustang is an after hours and weekends only car. So the drag radials are all Im going to get for it.

I was kind of leaning towards the Nittos...but only because of advertising I guess. I havent read any aritcles on them but a local tire shop that gives me a little price break carries them.

I don't drive the car in the rain, but their dry handling actually is not bad considering they are not intended for that purpose. I have seen some get as much as 20k out of a set of Nitto's, but that is rare.

While it is entirely possible the Ecsta MX gives better traction in the turns, it is physically impossible for them to give better launch traction - all other variables being equal.
Now the VictorRacer V700 or Ecsta V700 could possibly come close since they are road race tires and have a different compound than a regular passenger tire.
Just look at the treadlife :
Ecsta MX : 220
555R : 100
V700's : 50
I'd have your friend check tire pressure, whether the rim width is adequate for the size tire they chose, and above all else - driving characteristics.
