Default How to remove side air scoop ?

Does any body on this forum know how to remove the drivers side rear quarter panel air scoop, I need to repaint mine? Surely somebody must know how to do this ? Thanks FJM

Thanks for the replys guys,I wish I knew which way it was, 2 sided tape or bolts ? I guess I can remove the rear inside upholstery panel and look for bolts, I didn't want to have to do that if it wasn't nessesary ,I tend to always tear something up and then find out what I did wasn't even nessesary.But thanks anyway. Default Scoop removal

If they were applied with 3M double sided auto tape you can remove them using a heavy fishing line, similar to flossing your teeth. This method will still leave some residue from the tape but that can be removed with some type of bug/tar removal product.

mine are stuck on with the plastic retaining clips.. you take a rag and a screwdriver should pop right off.

BT257 I pulled the side scoop right off with no problem.Two of the nylon push pins came of with the scoop and the other four stayed in the body,I had no porblem getting those out with a small flat screw driver and they can be used on the new scoop.Thanks alot for your help brother. FJM

Default ATTACHING SIDE SCOOPS ON 04 Mustang

2004 mustang gt. While washing car SIDE SCOOP fell off. 5 YEARS ago Body shop obvioulsy broke the slots on scoop & re-attached. I bought a plastic adhessive, with the seringe applicator, Let cure 24 hrs. Removed Snap Pins from quarter panel & insterted in SCOOP. Line up Pins to holes, use applicable force ( BACK of FIST) & BINGO SIDE SCOOP ATTACHED.
