I suggest to go aftermarket, they are much better. It is a bit of a pain to do,but worth it.

You don't need to pull the tranny (unless you want to replace the clutch fork). To the best of my memory its a simple bolt and washer set up for the clutch cable. I could be wrong though. Its been a few years since I've replaced a clutch.

The cable and quadrant swap took a few hours too if I remember correctly.

I pulled the driver seat out of the '95 to do mine...I noticed that I had a slight rattle from the looseness of the quadrant on the "other" hole...(not the fulcrum). I found a rubber grommet and fit it over the shaft between the quadrant and the retainer pin. No rattle...no problem.

The cable swap, firewall adjuster and quadrant swap are an easy project. You only need to jack one side of the car to get at the chasis mounting for the cable as well as to remove and replace the cable on the fork. However, if you haven't made the purchase I highly suggest the stock Ford cable with a Maximum Motor Sports quadrant and firewall adjuster. The MM quadrant uses the stock ratio (curve) on the quadrant which does not increase the pedal effort. If you have a racing clutch that has increase pedal effort and you use a modified quadrant such as one from Steeda, your pedal effort will increase even more. I learned this the hard way after I changed my from a stock clutch to a Centerforce dual friction. The clutch is advertised as stock pedal effort and after the install it was far too much for a daily driver. I had previously installed a Steeda Quadrant Cable and Firewall adjuster. I called Centerforce to ask what gives with the increased pedal effort. They told me that many aftermarketk Quadrants have a different ramp that accelerates the clutch action but at the same time increases pedal effort. I spoke with Steeda and they told me that in fact their quadrant had a 5% ramp increase. Did some research and found that MM(fantastic engineering BTW) has an aluminum quadrant with stock profile. Put that it in and now the car is a pleasure to drive again. I highly reccommend MM over any other Mustang Parts Vendor. My personal experience is that they really engineer their parts better and know what they are talking about, as well as provide EXCELLENT install intructions. Link for the quadrant is below:
