Something about the system does actually work. I havn't quite determined if it's the actual hydrogen, or some kind of computer trick, but my dad put one on his pick up (not going to mention the make or model) *Cough* Toyota T-100 *cough cough*. and he went from 17MPG on the highway up to 20MPG of city driving. Paying off the cost of the system in about 6000 Miles.
I'm going to be relocating my battery and installing it on my mustang along with a potentiometer. The I'm going to take it to a dynometer and find out if I'm actually gaining HP with the hydrogen generator on, of if the electronics are just tricking the computer (in which case there will just be an obvious HP drop).
If there is no horsepower gain then there is no fuel mileage gain generated by the burning of hydrogen. IF it does work, that situation would make a regenerative breaking system very very benificial. And I may think about working with some buddies at K-State and engineering up a simple system for it. Assuming THAT works I'll pull my engine, upgrade the pistons to handle the extra explosive force (fuel burns, hydrogen explodes) of the high hydrogen mixture.
Then you can all cry when I drive by in my 300 HP 50 MPG '
stang.
