Sorry, I have a Tri-Ax, and I'll not be trading it.

I doubt anyone will bite. My advice would be to avoid used shifters, anyway - they are easily screwed up with bad installs or abuse.

Best idea might be to just buy what you want and sell the old one on Ebay.

As for the bad advice...

Make AFM a prime source for advice, and you will improve your chances.

Have you tried MGW? MGW>Pro5.0>Stock. That's been my experience. Three years on the MGW and wouldn't have any other.

Darn. I wonder who told you that.

The two shifters are actually quite similar, though the Steeda has a more "positive" feel (I've had both on different cars in the past).

If you had an older Mustang I'd say yes, the 5.0 is an excellent choice, but the newer ones sit differently.

If you want the shifter to be adjustable to get it closer to you, the MGW (made right here in Georgia) would be my choice.

MGW also claims to have the shortest throw, but my experience has been that this is a function of the length of the shifter shaft combined with the height of the shifter knob.

I actually ended up going with a tall Steeda knob to give me a bit more leverage (this is the trade off in the length of the throw, more effort, shorter throw).

If you are looking for a shorter throw as the reason for making the change, consider changing to a shorter shifter knob if one is available.

the girth of a shift knob gives the feel of a different throw. i used to have the small steeda knob on my triax and i got a ford racing knob (like oem on the terminator) and its significantly fatter, but not much taller and it felt like a shorter throw. sorry to say but shame on you for getting rid of the triax, its a damn good shifter.
