Do you have a carb or fuel injection? I have a carb on mine and it used to run continuous when the key was in the "on" position. I decided to cut the fuel pump wiring out of the steering column and run it through a manual switch so the fuel pump wouldn't come one when I just wanted to roll down my windows.

Yes the computer does when the pre gets high enough. The relay could also be not working right it could be sticking shut. I had a bad fuel pump and it melted the relay closed and kept the pump running even though the pump was bad. Also if the pump is not putting out enough pre it will run cont.

the fuel pump monitor is under the driver seat on a little bracket youll have to take the seat out to get to it.i dont know how you can test it, but if you turn the key on and the pink wire becomes energized for about two seconds and cuts off the problem should be further down the line
