Default anybody ever had this happen?

Just installed a new clutch (spec stage 1) and put a new clutch cable in that is a little longer. The clutch cable outer sleeve split right behind the firewall and the coil poped out with really sucks becuase i can't order a new one until mon. I was just wondering if this has happened to anybody else and if its a manufactors defect or something i might have done to cause this. just adjusted the cable till there wasn't much play in it so i don't think it was to tight.

Just curious, why would you install a longer clutch cable than stock?

From what I've seen, some aftermarket cables DO cause this sort of problem. Who made yours?

steeda, it was recommended to change to the longer cable because the stock one isn't long enough for this clutch.

it came in a kit with the quadrant and firewall cable adjuster

Steeda is usually good, but I don't think they make their own clutch cables.

I'd contact them. Discuss the problem. Its likely they will send you a new one.
