i have an 01 gt, got it back from the shop about a month ago and everything was runnin good and strong. i gave it an oil change after about 200 hundred miles.i put in full synthetic.and its only been maybe about a 1000 miles, moreless.. and on thursday i started noticing a tapping noise around 2000-2500rpms and after that it kind of fades away. whenever i first start the car and drive, it takes a few minutes for the noise to come up.the guy at the shop told me that i wasnt suppose to put full syntheyic in at least after 5000 miles.and to use semi-syn. motorcraft. i got another oil change today and it was still making the noise but only drove it for about 10 minutes, i dont know if it takes a little bit for the oil to circulate <<(is that the right word)or what?? any help would be appreciated im hoping its not going to lead to something serious...

if I had to guess, I'd say somethings prob wrong wth those patriot heads, could be a lash adjuster or a valve guide issue, which there know to have had problems wth in the past......get it looked at very soon before you cause yourself alot of $$$$
