I bought my 03 gt with some mods already on it. The dealer had no idea what they were. When a friend was riding with me one day he told me to gun it at a stop sign and we noticed the car shifted into second a little under 55mph and it made a squeling noise as it shifted. He said there might be a shift kit on it. Does my car have a shift kit on it and how can I tell what kind? And what was that squeling noise because it wasn't my tires?

do you have a tuner with the car ? a lot of times with the shift points or line pressure turned up it can create that squealing noise when shifting under high rpms. If it has had a shift kit or jmod done it could also cause it. belt slippage could also be a possibility ? no way to really tell if it has a shift kit my 01 shifted very hard squealing the tires bone stock.

No i don't have a tuner, but i shifts really good. So i'm thinking the person before me had one or something.

ya well then maybe the pervious owner messed up the gear and thats why he decided to sell it. But i mean u might never know. Try talking it in to an auto body shop and have them look at it
