That will fit inside the fender? I would like to install a power antenna also. Do you have to remove the fender or pull the engine to install it? It doesn't look like there's a lot of room to work with inside that fender. That is the oddest quirk I have found yet about my 03 Cobra, no power antenna, it never occured to me to check, I thought all new cars had power antennas. Course this is the first new car I have bought in 30 years. Ah well not that it would have changed my decision to buy it. Guess it's a sports car thing...

More wieght! how much could a power antenna wiegh? I put one in my 74F250 and it couldn't have wieghed 2 pounds! If I wanna save wieght I'll just leave the wife home! That's an honest 130lb wieght saveings!
I would be leary about cutting my stock antenna it seems to have a wire wrapped around the main shaft and imbedded in some kinda epoxy or sumthin. Plus if I cut it- it would look cut, it wouldn't have the little round ball on the end. So no one makes a low profile/shorty antenna?

yea your supposed to cut it down and you can pop the ball off and put it back on after you cut it. www.mustangworld.com go to how to's and "shorten your antenna" is one that will tell you how to do it if you want to go that route also

Can you not take the antenna out and cut it from the bottom?? I think many of those antenna's are so-called "looped" at the top for continuous whatever. This is what I've heard when I was into CB radio's for hobby. That little ball may make the loop for it, I dont know.

umm, just cut it from the top. I dont have the ball on the top of my antenna, i shaved it and sanded it to a good round finish. I think it looks much better, some of the firts mods were shortenign the antenna and lowering my wipers(makes such a good difference). .

Well I shortened my antenna today as well to 18". It was a little pain trying to file down the end to fit back into the ball, but it was well worth it. Much more aerodynamic looking. Next, the windshield wipers.

thats great that you cut yours too...like i said its an easy mod too and well worth the ten minutes. i also think its very subtle, (not too many people notice) and that is exactly what i like.
