Default Question about reducing rear side to side movement?

My 04 GT in a blast to drive, until I come around a corner and hit a bump. The car feels like it might leave the rear axle back at the corner. Ive even experienced it driving straight and hitting a good sized dip in the road. I plan on lowering the car soon, but wondering if there was a more effective way of getting rid of the loose rear end feeling that seems to be common with stangs. Does anyone know if adding a panhard bar would eliminate the problem?

I always thought the IRS helped the problem, but hadn't thought about installing on a GT.

The IRS will help to eliminate the problem. The IRS makes going over bumps much smoother than going over a bump in a SRA. An IRS swap is a bit harder than a SRA swap though. lol

IRS ya will help but seams a lil extreme for just stopping the rear end dancing that these cars are known for.

Here are your options.

Panhard Bar - Maximum Motorsports :: The Leader In Mustang Performance Suspension

Watts link : EvM Watts Link - $649.95 : Evolution Motorsport, A Mustang Performance Company

IRS: check ebay around 1000 bucks not including new cat back and adjustments to your drive shaft.

personally get your self some lower control arms and either a PHB or a Watts. I like watts but to each their own. IRS just doesnt make sence to me just to make it stop shimying.

If you really want a IRS bad, try and find a 03-04 Cobra owner that wants to do a swap. They do it because wheel hop sucks for drag. I had a Cobra owner asked me if I wanted to do it when I had just barley bought my car, but I didn't go for it at the time. Sometimes I feel like I regret it lol.
