98 mustang gt laser red..repainted $1500

i was talking to a private car painter...this guy does a really good job, takes his time, does all the body work, ect. so he told me that it would cost me 1500 to get the whole car painted the same laser red color...apparently the paints really expensive. i was wondering if maaco would do a decent job for a smaller price...i live in south jersey so if there's anyone else out there who paints cars and can give me a better price let me know.. thanks guys

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maaco's paint job will look good for a week or so then you will wish you would have just left your car alone... maaco does a HORRIBLE job they hardly do any prep work.. basically all they do is wash your car do a quick little sand job and on goes the paint...

red is one of the worst colors for price. 1500 seems MORE than reasonable. but thats my 0.02

I have had a car done by Maco before...they do do a decent job...just depends on what leval paint job you go w/ from them...I went w/ the 1000 dollar job...and they did a great job...im sure if you went w/ a 200 dollar job...it would look like crap...then i had another car done by a custom painter...paid 2500 and it looked like crap...Maco does do a decent job!...I guess it really just depends on the painter himself.

$1500 is a great price for the whole car and in RED. Its the most expensive color right now. I think that is a bargin. Stay away from MAACO and Good Luck

i had macco paint a car of mine before, it was there high quality paint. trust me, its not that high quality. car looked cool with a flat not to shinny grey silver, but if you want a factory look. dont go to them. i was thinking of doing a color change on my gt. i was quoted 1900. so 1500 is great.

Just validating you here but $1,500 is an awesome price if you trust the guy. I'm paying $2,500 to have my 96GT resprayed Laser Red. Actually our insurance is paying for it because of the hail storm it was in earlier this summer but $2,500 for minor body prep and dent removal and paint is a good deal I feel. $1,500 is an awesome deal.

Save up and post pics when you're done!

If you lived closer.. I'm in VA I would do it for $1000.00 I've been doing body and paint work for over 12 years,, painted about 25 mustang's But getting tired of doing it.. But $1,500.00 is a good price.. NJ isn't a cheap place to get a good paint job.. So just look at some of his last paint jobs. and you should be able to tell if he's good or not..

A guy just told me it would be around 2200$ to do my whole car the same red. He then said the rock bottom he could go would be 1500 so I think this guy is giving you a hell of a deal. If you choose to get it done a different color though the price will be significantly lower. My guy said if I wanted to go with black or white or a grayish the price would be cut in half easily, if not cheaper. I think the charcoal looks great on the new edge body styles and I considered that for my car but I honestly think the red looks best on the 94-98's.
