Default should I do it?

so I have looked at a couple other mustang forums, and everyone says to get .390 or .410 gears instead of .373 for a 5 speed. Should i do this? I dont do a whole lot of highway driving and i heard the rpm's differance is not a whole lot. But the differance is huge, what do you guys thinkk????

Honestly...there is a big dif. to 3:73's from stock...that is what I got...and Im not to happy w/ the 3:73's...I wish I would have gone w/ 4:10's...im gonna redo mine eventually...I would say def. do 4:10's!!

.410 wont be too much tho? (stupid question lol) i mean i Hear EVERYONE does .373 and i thought maybe.410 would be too much. So i figured some .390 would be perfect lol. I am def leaning towards the .410 now. More opinions would be great thank you

i have been debating this same question for months lol..i kept thinking 373's wouldnt be enough and 410's wont get me anywhere but sideways or smoking my tires..my buddy has a mach 1 with a supercharger with 410's and its increcibly fast, runs high 11's..im putting 410's on my car in a couple weeks, ill let you know how they are cuz im running only 245's front and back for now while i save up for some nicer rims, so hopefully ill be able to hook up for the time being

haha it seems we are in the exact same situation. I also am just running the 245's and was wondering if I will be able to hook up. I was gonna slap some DD bullits on the back with some 315's but summer is almost over, so next spring i suppose. Although it never snows here so maybe wen i have some extra cash lol

I have 373 in the car and I rode with a friend that have the 4;10s I'm thinking about switching to the 4;10s! But I was never on the highway so I dont know about the rpm. That's the only thing that's stopping me!

Ya just like me! The only free way I use is to go to work and it only takes about 15-20 mins to get there.

hey no problem man.

i don't think they will be able to blow by you. your RPMs will already be high on the highway and that's where most cars have all the horse power. you downshift and gun it, you'll be golden. i cant tell you how often im on the highway and a 350Z comes by (for some reason they love to attempt to race me) and trys to do something. all that happens is an upset for them. and you most certainley will not regret them.
