Haven't posted in a while. Girlfriends 98 Gt is doing good. We need to take it back the body shop to fix misc. flaws and things they missed. Other than that it's running great. Quick question though...what do you guys think we can do to it that would boost up the perfomance a little? Current power mods include: Off-road H pipe, Flowmasters, CAI and not sure if this added any power but Xavier helped me install new intake manifold from 99 and up mustangs.
By the way...I might be getting a mustang. I drive my girlfriends GT from time to time but it's not mine and ever since I got rid of my 98 GT back in 2003 I have really missed it. Well, my friends wife has a 2003 Mach 1 that her dad bought her brand new..it only has 27,000 and she rarely drives it. She's thinking about selling it to get an Audi A4 and I told her I'd buy it from her. This might not happen for another year or so buts it's something exciting to look forward to.
Definintely consider the Mach 1. Fine car, and great that you know the owner and history!
As for the 98, sure, there are lots of ways to bump up the performance.
Has the car had the PI upgrade done? Sounds more like you just did the non-pi intake replacement...
What sort of budget for the upgrades do you have?
Oh yeah for sure I'll get the Mach...considering the rarity of the car and the low miles it's a sure thing unless she decides at the last minute to not sell it. The Mach even has a few mods...Flowmasters...which I'll probably change out, H&R springs and MM full length subframe connectors. As far as the 98 I believe I did do the PI intake because Xavier mentioned something that part of the manifold in one corner didn't quite match up or something like that. I also had to use a PI alternator bracket. Not sure if the GF would want to drop the cash for a head swap...not sure. I mentioned supercharger to her last night and she said naw...I don't need it. Guess I'll supercharge the Mach ...maybe.
I forgot to mention we also changed out the TB and intake plenum on the GT. We have stock exhaust pipes with the flow welded in..will I see any difference if I went with different pipes?
Replacing the mid-pipe will get you some noticeable difference, though still not that much. Maybe 5-8hp. The cat-backs aren't worth more than a few more hp either (folks do those changes for the sake of tone and volume, of course).

If you go witht he P/I swap it will run a lot better and maybe install some gears. A midpipe and full exhaust would add a little more and sound really good.

How much would it be for the headswap? What kind of performance increase do you think I'd see? I bought 3.73 gear but when I went to put them on it seemed like the inner diameter of the gear was too small and I sent it back. We already have an Off road Hpipe with flowmaster s but running stock piping from mufflers to the tips.
Also would doing the PI headswap mean I have to run premium fuel or could I still run 87oct?

For the PI heads it might cost around $600-700. Not sure how much the install will cost unless ya can do it yourself, but it will be kinda pricy. You can gain an extra 40-50hp maybe. And you dont have to run premium with it but i think it will run just that much better with it.
