So last friday me and my roomate drove to Houston to go look at a 2001 Bullitt, only had 45,500 miles, got it for 10,500. Never felt so good to drive a car home. I'm ready to start playing with it haha.

well the car has wider tires all around than stock, and didn't the bullitts come stock lower than the gt's? only mods on the car when i bought it are billit knobs in the interior, and a k&n filter, but not cai. don't know where i want to begin.

Congrats on the Bullitt. Check out and join the International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club (IMBOC) site. Just google IMBOC. I have a Bullitt and enjoy going to the site everyday. Great bunch of folks.
Ya I've already looked into IMBOC, I just need to register. And not to sure if i wanna mess with gears just yet, still enjoying the fuel mileage of it without increasing the rpms on the highway. Eventually i would like to supercharge it though but i think that is gonna be a long way down the road.

You might want to wait on mods until you talk to more Bullitt owners via the IBMOC site. The mods I have on mine are: 373 gears, Aluminum drive shaft, CAI with K & N filter, Cast aluminum valve covers. and MGW orange shifter.
i would start with a catback at the least. i just cant resist the sound of a nice exhaust

Next summer looking to go with:
Bilstien shocks + struts, Lowering springs (brand still TBD (any suggestions?)), MM CC plates, front + rear sway bars, subframes, and upper and lower control arms.
Time to make the pony ride some rails
yeah . . .uhhh . . .power's nice and all . . . but these cars are a definite candidate for some suspension assistance
3-link rear end
panhard bar
upgraded struts, I'm not talkin like Eibach crap, I mean like Koni or Bilstein
better sub-frame connectors (the stock ones are rubbish)
neoprine or poly bushings
FAR BETTER SPRINGS (progressive rates are your friend)
LCA's UCA's
If you're up to it, switch from the crappy suspension setup they have now and go with a coil-over setup . . . that's some handling goodness right there.
Bigger brakes? Or just anything with more stopping force. These bad boys stop well but they could use some consistency adjustment . . .slotted rotors perhaps.
Power is nothing without control, it's fun to make your car go faster in a straight line throwing handling to the wind, but there's much more respect in tasteful suspension and chassis adjustment modification.

The gears won't hurt your mileage, and sometimes improve it, the higher rpm is offset by the lower load on the driveline. Nice find, great looking mustang
