Just thought I would share , this brought on a smile.
So I was on a drive with the wife and kids , Had the top down , just cruizin.
We were running 'bout 60mph when this guy in a lil' civic comes up , reving his lil thing. I shouted back with a couple thumps on the 4.6 followed by a quick downshift(only 1 gear to 4th) and a bump up of the front end.
My wife was slapping my leg, saying dont .But I know Ive got my kids with my , I'm just playing.
Anyways , The guy in the civic looks over with a blank stare , waved and backed off , giving me a thumbs up. He didnt even wanna try. ha ha ha...
I guess he knew I had the same motor he has under the hood in my trunk powering my convertible.ha ha ha.
Good thing you didn't race. Never do that with the wife and kids. Do it ever once in a while to piss off the wife just because thats fun but never with kids.
haha thats great. I would feel accomplished if i were you, even though you had precious cargo in the car.
I was coming back from the shop one day when a 90's style accord was riding my a$$ with a big wing, body kit and a thousand stickers. I was going about 45 and as soon as it hit 2 lanes he took off and me being a good mood i only went down to 4th and blew his doors off. I was laughing, he was ticked off. All in all it was a good ride home. People like them make me hate all japanese cars
Yeah never race with the little ones in the car, which i dont have any so im good there lol. But anyways, believe it or not, ive never had a civic try to race me like that. The only experience with a jap car is an older nissan sentra was riding my tail one time and i dont have to tell you how that story turned out. lol I have had a pontiac sunfire rev up and an s-10 fly by me on the highway tapping his roof, both stories end the same way.

Yeah thats great. I was on my way home from the movies 1 saturday night at about 1 am and i had a civic roll up on me reving his little engine. needless to say i blew him away by 4 car lengths and never really opened it all the way up. the funniest thing was when we hit the next light he had the nerve to ask me what i had under the hood and his expression when i said a stock 4.6. No mods just bbk x pipe with flowmaster 40s.

a few years ago when my GT was still on the street, I drove it to work which is only 3 miles from my house....now for a long time my car was "decaled-up" sides, back window, side windows, windshield (sea pics in albums, you'll get the idea)...
well one moring, heading for work at 7:30am, Im comming off the side street to the main drag, RT 26 or Liberty rd (for you locals) and Im sitting at the traffic light and right across the street is a "marked" Baltimore County Cop Car, Im thinking, "oh ****"...well guess what, the very next traffic light we both catch red, me in the right lane and the Cop in the left lane.....I just kept looking foward, not wanting to look over, but out of the corner of my eye I sea the passengerside window comming down and Im thinking "oh ****" now what? well I look over and sea the Cop is grabbing the shifter lever in his Crown Vic and yanking it down into low and at the sametime, standing on the brake and bringging up the revs....Im like, "what the ****, so the light turns green and he blast away from the light spinning wheels, so I rev mine to @5k and side-steped the clutch......and stalled it, fired it back up, took the R's up to 7K and let it rip, smoke rolling everywhere, sideways into second gear and I looked back to sea @10 others cars that were behind us at the stop light...cant imangine what was going on thru there minds
anyway, I got out of the throttle as the Cop was 1/2 mile away by the time I got myself together, went on to work, turned in the parking lot of the dealership only to find the Cop and car sitting in the parking lot waiting for me......it was J.D. (last name wthheld) grinning from ear-to-ear ....and NO, I didnt get a ticket, warning or anything from him..... this wasnt the last time J.D. ****** wth me either
I've got a funny cop story too. I live in a small town that has small force of crown vics and a durango. well this spring I brought out the mustang for the week befor I was to put her under the knife. I was crusing past the cop shop after getting milk and a new painted up charger pulls out with those stealth lights that they have inside now.
So im sitting at the light with him next to me and im checking out his car and he is looking at mind and he goes "wanna run"! I kinda give him a dumbstruck look and he goes "dont worry i wont tell if you dont". so I rev it up and so does he and we're both watching the side of the light to turn yellow then red.
Im litterly letting up on the clutch as a lil riced up civic blows through the light. We both look at each other and he goes "excuse me" and throws on the lights and pulls out goes around me and chases him down.
Ive ran into him since then and we just wave.

Where i live, every friday night, there are litterally about a hundred ricer kids that hang out in a big parking lot behind a sonic, and me and a few of my buds just roll through the lot me in my gt and my buds in z28s. We get angry looks and just take in the abuse and the words that they shout, just knowing if anyone of them wanted to race they'd be smoked within the first quarter mile They've never had the balls to ask us to race. Don't think they would even if we asked
I never understand why people want those japenese cars, I mean they want a powerful, nice car...but then buy a little civic or something??? Just doesnt make since.
I play softball on friday nights and plp all ways go buy honking their horn and yelling stuff no big deal and the lil riceres rev it to the rev limter when going by WTF?? but last friday a crx pulls in to the park and I play the out filed and he reved it up to the limter and I turned around a said my NOS purge sounds meaner than that POS and he does it again and the motor had enjuff it scaster right their I lost it right on the spot lol

yeah i was headin down a main road when i saw a hatch civic come farting by me goin the other way, so i revved it to about 4 grand and all the sudden i look in my rear window and see that little civic jump the median to catch up to me. He got next to me looked over and dropped his crap into like 2nd, mind you were going about 50 i tossed mine into 4th not even in my powerband yet and just start walking him, then he quickly turned off. But pretty funny he jumped the median to get spanked
