hey guys. i have an 01 mustang gt and cant stand the stock lanky shifter. i would like to buy the hurst sst shifter with the chrome handle from ford racing. does anyone know if the shifter is actually shorter than the stock one and by how much, and overall thoughts of the shifter. Thank you!

the shifter it self is the same heighth but the throw is dramatically decreased.. i have the hurst also and love it

I was at the store the other day and saw the newest 5.0 Magazine and they had a run down on all the different shifters that are on the market. The pros and cons looked like a good article.

i drove a gt with a hurst shifter (not sure if its the same one you are talking about) and it was the WORST short shifter ive ever driven. imo stay with mgw, steeda triax or pro 5.0 everything else is junk

it was just very sloppy and shifted inaccuratly. the shifter wouldnt stay in the middle of the neutral position. it just kinda floated around horizontally. it was really hard to find 3rd as well. maybe it was old and worn out i dont know but i really thought it was junk.

Hi all,
I just bought my first car and its a 99 GT. The first thing that I want to put on it is a hurst shifter. I have looked all over the internet to find a picture of one that has been installed......no luck!!! Can someone send me a pic to tgriffith009@yahoo.com

I dont care for the Hurst either, the Shelby GT at work has one and I really didnt like the feel of the shifts in it. I would almost say I liked the factory better than it, on 05+ anyways
