Default Why does my "check engine" light keep coming on?

I installed a steeda cold air intake with a SCT X3 tune. the only thing i changed so far was the octane to be used. the light came on a little after i started driving it. the next chance i got i cleared the code with the tuner but it came back on again. as well, the car seems to shift a little faster and harder. Is this a problem? advice, guidance, knowledge needed. thanks

im no mechanic but some guess's of mine would be:

1: Air sensor got damaged\not properly re-installed
2: Air sensor isn't high enough quality to read air intake
3: Loose wire?

I dont know man but those we be the first things i checked and hopefully thats all they are because they're cheap and easy to fix.

P.S.
I sure hope u didn't bugger up your computer because some of the do-it-yourself tuners are serious trouble.

You also have to select that you have a cold air from the end user parameters. Not just octane. The tuner doesn't know what you have unless you tell it what you have. Right now you are programmed for the stock airbox if you didnt choose it so its not going to run right.

another thought if that cold air intake has a oiled filter they can be over oiled and then the oil gets to the mass air flow sensor. sometimes they can be cleaned but other times they have to be replaced. try to clean the wires in the maf but be very careful they break easily.
