The past month I've been getting about 240 - 270 miles per tank while burning a lot of rubber before changing out my tires. I use 87 octane from Shell. But then again at this point I have a pretty much stock 03 GT. I usually shift between 3000 and 5000 once the car has warmed up. The most I ever got was 350 miles to the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania on one tank at 24.5 mi/gal but it would have been better if I hadn't been stuck in traffic outside Hartford for an hour and a half.
Myself, I am getting roughly 33 mpg and I do I would say about 50/50 city and highway and Im usually cruising down the highway at about 140km/hr which is approx 86mph ( which is speeding huge up here hehe ) .. I have an 09 mustang GT and only have a Airraid cold air and diablo tune done so far everything else is stock and using winter tires atm up in canuck land hehe.
oh and im getting around 350ish miles to a tank as I have not run empty ( usually fill around just under a quarter which is almost 300miles at that point ) and the car only has 7700kms or 4784 miles on it

Sorry dude, but the physics of your claim don't add up. I think your math is off (or your odometer is). Just a little refresher for everyone or anyone that doesn't properly know how to calculate their mileage. Step 1: fill tank. Step 2: Drive around atleast 100 miles to get a good range of driving in. Step 3: fill up again. Step 4: Take the amount of miles you drove and divide it by the amount of gas you just put in. (example: drove 100 miles and put 5 gallons in = 20 mpg). I hope this is common knowledge, I'm just throwing it out there for those that never thought of doing it this way. 33 mpg on a v8 always driving it at 85 mph is rediculous. Your best mileage is going to come from driving it in 5th gear at about 55-65 mp on stock gears. I get about an average of 20 mpg driving around town and i think thats where most gt's are, or at least near that range. You can expect on your best day to get maybe 26 on the highway depending on how cool the weather is and your elevation. Its all physics. Lets keep it real huh, nobody is handing out gold stars here for the best mileage. In answer to the original question of this post, I think you should be in the range of 225 to 300 miles per tank with minimal mods. Also stay away from that crap 7-11 tries to sell as gas.

i just drove down to west chester pensilvania last week. i only filled up once and that was in my home town at a shell station with 87 octane fuel. i still had about a quarter of a tank left by the time i got down there and thats a 6 hr drive about 360ish miles. i've been getting this good of mileage ever since i bouth the car about 24mpg. my dad has an 04 gt and he has never seen 300 on the odometer lol. all this was before i put in ported heads and tuned the car; now im getting around 19mpg using 93 octane
I must have missed it somewhere, is this miles or kilometers per tank? I don't understand how you guys are making it over 150 miles let alone over 250 miles from a full tank of gas? Is the gas different where you all are from?
I live in Chicago and all my driving is in the city. I drive 7 days in the week. I use Mobile or Marathon 87 octane like I'm suppose to. I'm on my third fill up with BP gas to see if there's any difference and the best I can do when the low fuel light is on is 160 miles. Is there something wrong with my car or gas? If the car, which is stock with K&N cai, what can it be? If gas, what do you all recomend for the Mustang?
Woah, I can't get that bad of gas mileage even flooring it everywhere city or highway. All your driving is city though... but still... I ALWAYS get over 230 or so even with a lead foot.

i get around 240 miles to the tank... thats with like 90 percent city driving and i floor it like 5 times a tank.. average shifts at 2000-3000 rpms. I use sunco fuel and sometimes wawa but i've heard that gas mileage is not as good with wawa fuel, i dunno how it matters that much. Anyone know?
I was averaging close to 250 miles per tank of gas...lately it's about 230's I need to do an over due tune up. I just got a house so I had to worry about moving and all. I averaged approx 19.4-20 mpg and now I am doing about 18.4(per my last fill up). I drive it hard from time to time, I never can seem to drive her conservative for at least one tank of gas worth, I always find myself speeding or just hauling ass for one reason or another.
