I searched and found quite a few threads about gas mileage, however I'm hoping to get an idea of what a full tank will do. I also tried to find information regarding the best operating range for normal driving. I have been trying to shift at different RPMs throughout full tanks of gas, to see if it impacts mileage much.
So, how many miles are you getting on a full tank of gas? And what RPM do you think serves the best mileage?(format below)
Average miles per tank:
Octane, gas vendor:
Mods:
Drive like an idiot?:
Average shifting point(rpm):
----------
245
91 octane, 76
Mods are in sig
I'll floor it less than five times a tank
2500-3000
The best I have accomplished was 290, running on 7-11 gas shifting at 2000 rpm every gear. I would think that if you shift low enough, the car would get just as bad gas mileage as shifting too high.... Any input appreciated!

i just drove down to georgia and back(NC). and i estimated about 28!!!! MILES PER GALLON!!!! and i have a 2000 gt with 3.73gears.
i used about a whole tank and another quarter to get down there i think its about a 6 hour drive.
Not exactly sure how many i get on a tank, but i average 12-15mpg in the city/bout 20/22 highway.
-91 premium, Gate or Exxon.
-Supercharged, bolt ons, 3.73 gears.
-Like to show off and have fun with it often, but i dont kill it.
-Normal shifting point is 2500-3500rpm. Having fun or racing is 4000-5800rpm.

Next summer looking to go with:
Bilstien shocks + struts, Lowering springs (brand still TBD (any suggestions?)), MM CC plates, front + rear sway bars, subframes, and upper and lower control arms.
Time to make the pony ride some rails
Do you think there is any benefit to shifting lower than 2500 at all shifts... say 2000? I'm trying to find out the best efficiency operating range for these cars. Anybody seen articles done for these cars or similar cars?
edit: 180 miles per tank!? How can you maintain that...

Sinister02GT, how-tf are you getting that kind of mileage on the highway, my car has never seen 300 on the tach for one tank of gas? 04KennebellGT, how do you get that kind of mileage, I'm right around there.... and my car isnt supercharged....
Most of my driving is highway, and I still only get about 245 per tank. Do you guys downshift to 4th when passing people or just keep it in 5th?

Average miles per tank: 328

Drive like an idiot?: No. Every now and then I do let her pull through a bit tho.
Average shifting point(rpm): Usually around 2K
According to my spreadsheet, I average at 21 MPG. On a full tank that'd net me 328 miles. Never seen it go beyon 270 miles on the tach tho. I usually fill up before she tries to drive on fumes :P
Worst mileage I ever made was 14.4 MPG (she'd been sitting at a dealership for about 6 months back then and that was her first drive), while the best (and I checked it twice, still can't believe it, and have never been able to reproduce it) was 30.3 MPG.

I got an '02 GT 5 speed. I usually get around 280-300 to a tank, but can get usually 300 or better if i fill up at this exxon near my school. Anywhere else and 280 is pretty normal. And, i usually shift around 2500-3000 rpms and open it up about 3-4 times a tank i guess.
