Default Boiling Coolant?!?!?

So my car has been giving me tons of problems lately . I did a radiator flush today because I noticed smoke coming out towards the top hose of the radiator. So I figured it was a bad thermostat. I run to napa autoparts (closest place) I usually like autozone but who knows maybe someone will tell me the best auto parts store . So anyways, I got a brand new thermostat with the gasket, put it in and began my flush with a hose. I then flushed all the coolant out until it was clear and then filled her up with prestone and let her sit. It then started to smoke again!!!!! I checked the fluid temperature with my sct tuner and it read 180???? I have no clue but to think its a bad water pump or my fan. Anyone have ideas??

Not exactly sure of where your leak is but maybe take a pic. Water pump would smoke under motor, bad thermostat would not smoke just make car overheat. Your fan has nothing to due w/ this situation. It sounds more like a radiator leak. Need more info???

It doesn't seem to have a leak anywhere, I had left it in the garage overnight and theres no signs of any leaks. It smokes from the end of the top hose coming into the radiator and under the resovoir tank as well. It seems that the radiator gets really hot when i let it warm up, within 6 minutes my coolant went from 80 to 160 this morning until i shut it off. When I touched the radiator it was really hot as well. Also, when i drained the coolant out of the radiator, it came out steamy.

are you sure your coolant is 50/50 mix of water and coolant if its not mixed with water you boiling point would go down so my guess is your mixture is wrong i would flush out your coolant and buy some premixed coolant and water and put that in then see how it goes

what year is the car?
if your not sure, you could add some coolant systen dye and sea where where the leak is comming from, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's from the intake mainfold, common problem on Mustangs

do a pressure test on the cooling system. if its a leak, that will help.

Most leaks are not noticable when the car is off unless a hose is bad. Like delrosa said - Pressure test it.

a pressure test might not be of much help, esp if it's the seem on the coolant x-over as it only opens up and leaks when the engine is up to temp, thats why he should use the coolant system dye....

I think Randy hit the nail on the head.
