Default 1996 Mustang GT Need To Go Faster

ive got a 1996 mustang gt. its got all the bolt ons you can think of x pipe and flowmasters, short shifter, 3.73 gears running on street tires. raced my friend whos an 04 mustang gt completly stock and hes been beating me. i dont have a ton of money or else id have no problem charging it. so im lost to find more hp. can anyone help? im open for anything!

headers..CAI..how far is the race usually

work on the suspension so you can get off the line a bit faster, maybe even some drag radials for the rear(they look sweet too)

Yeah I would do the PI swap, its gonna be the best place to start. You could always get nitrous.

thanks for all the replies. this is my first car that im working on and i dont know a whole lot. ive got CAI, underdrive pulleys, no cats, and throttle body. question is what does PI stand for?

it stands for performance improvement. Its one of the best bangs for your buck ( right up there w/gears). P.I. swap is next on my list before any other bolt ons.

thats for used parts and NOT a head-swap kit either, $300.00 is an average price for a pair of PI cams an a PI intake, you will need somemore NBS parts too...
might try some of the other Mustang web sites classified sections, like the Corral.net or Mustangboards.com

yea get some long tube headers and a complete dyno tune..or like was said before do the pi swap

for the price the PI intake and cams will way out perform headers.

if you can't tackle the cams at least do the intake, if you buy used make sure its got an aluminum coolant passage at the front and the front runner goes to the drivers side, lots of people tricking people selling non-pi stuff as PI because of the aluminum passage.
