I'm not sure how I feel about nitrous but I like the idea of a supercharger, or what do you guys think about turbos?
Personally that's how I'm going to go. Hellion makes a down right evil kit for my car that will take me from 301rwhp to roughly 500rwhp without a rebuild. With a rebuild prolly closer to 600-650. But I want to go the turbo route, so as long as I'm not in it the turbo won't be spooling. Superchargers are like an on all the time type of thing, turbos aren't. It's mostly a matter of opinion though, both have advantages and disadvantages. For what I want, a turbo has the most advantage.
umm fact is I have both... 03 GT convertible and an 07 BMW 335xi, the 335 has a straight 6 twin turbo 300 hp 300 tq it's an awesome driver, however, it will walk all over my GT in every aspect except that it's not a Detroit muscle car my GT is loud and fun especially w/ top down and cuz I'm 50+ yrs old it just brings me back to my youth. Drive one of the sewing machines and you'll get it.

look at high end cars. zo6,s ferrari, svt cobras, etc.. all have more suspension mods than power adders. the mustang gt motor is not a weak pos. with good traction and handling, it will unleash the power and balance it evenly across your chassis. thats really the main goal of subframe connectors aswell

Anything over 440rwhp on the stock engine is gonna break. For 500rwhp your gonna need to built it up for that power, but the good news is if you can do that you can up the boost and get around your 600rwhp mark, but its not gonna be cheap.

LOL, I know. I've priced the whole kit with install and rebuild taylored for a turbo, and I'm in the $12k-$14K realm. That's going through Paul Becker at SVP Unlimited, who's a good friend of mine. He will give me a break but not free. Best thing is I know he wouldn't rip me off, and I know it's done right.

Yeah well at least ya know someone who can do it that you trust. That can be hard to find sometimes. And yea nothing is free especially that kind of work lol. But good luck with her.

Tell you what would be quick and make you smile like a kid in a candy shop. I have a 85 mustang. When I bought it a few years ago it was basicly stock except the upgraded super-duty T-5 and the rebuilt 5.0 engine. IT was sweet for a 85 and in really good shape BUT stock suspension etc. I wanted more kick so I took it over to OTT motorsports here in knoxville and let Dave install a NX nitrous kit in it. It was $1000.00 installed with purge kit and all ready to go. You can do it cheaper yourself but I did not want to fool with it plus never done it before. It was just what I was looking for. NO need for suspension upgrade, Mustangs come with pretty good suspension from the factory even in 85! NOT that I did not want to upgrade which I did AFTER installing the nitrous and I did just fine. You don't want to try to hit a curve at 100 MPH but for straight line (thats what NOS is for) I was smiling from ear to ear and was eating some ricers for breakfast. Stick you a NX or Zex or NOS kit and shoot you about 100 shot when a ricer tries to pass you again. That 4 valve 4.8 will SCREEM with a 100 shot and as long as you have the MSD timing retard box on it set correctly you will be good to go!! You should do WELL over 300 HP easy. Do you a 373 gear too then you will be doing really well.
so having driven (and beaten) many euro cars mostly bmw's and benz's i have to say that i still would drive my stang over them any day. in the garage next to my mustang is a 01 sl32 amg which is the quick little 2 seater which is pushing 350hp from a supercharged V6 had it on the dyno after we got it and it put down 290 to the wheels. this is completely stock mind you. the car is quick. but after driving it i hate it. the car has absolutely no personality. it bores me it doesnt feel as fast as it is. its simply not a fun car to drive. the seats feel rich and classy and make me feel like a pr*ck. i dont like these cars ha. i also have had bmws most recently was a 2000 328ci also pretty quick, but again no personality no kick in the seat when you floor it. no fun (in my opinion.) the mustang is an icon. it is beautiful, quick, full of life and a joy to drive and build up. anyone (with the money) can go out and BUY a ridiculously quick car which is pretty much "finished" from the factory. id rather have a american V8 and build it into a f***ing demon on the road. not only do you get a quick car and a bunch of stories from all the good times in the car or while working on it. but you also get a sense of pride that you created something. every time i feel an extra kick in my stang after finishing a new mod i feel a sense of pride. knowing that i spent countless hours in the garage building it, and know i still probably payed THOUSANDS less then those damn bmw, benz, lexus drivers. I also know for a fact that with a few mods and a tune to your stang you can and will start eating those euros and ricers (well you could be the ricers stock thats not the issue here) i easily did 130 in my mustang with just a cai and cat backs. and it was still pulling.
AMERICAN MUSCLE WILL NEVER DIE CAUSE THIS IS AMERICA DAMMIT

I know what you mean FURY. I've driven some of those cars and done nothing for me. Especially when I've owned way cooler cars. Besides my Stang, '70 Trans Am, '68 Pontiac Tempest, '68 Buick GS 400, '72 Buick Stage1 and currently own a '72 Buick GS. Back in the day them eauro-nese trash would think twice before lining up next to or just avoiding these cars.
Now don't get me wrong. When I said that American muscle is not like it used to be, I'm saying that the other guy have caught up or are passing us by and it ticks me off a bit. Also FURY you're right, American muscle is not dead cause this is America..........DAMMIT!
If I had to mod all over again, I would do #1 gears, #2 tuner, then concentrate on having my stang breathe better. I would go piece by piece and do CAI, throttle body, MAF, intake manifold, ported heads, LT headers, cats, cat back ect. Then from there go to the suspension and get to the NOS, P/A, forged internals lastly.
