I'm tired of getting beat up by the euro trash that's out there, i.e. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and son. Especially on the highway. I mean, these cars are running 4 and 6 cylinders right? Here I'm running a big bad American V8 and I can't keep up, what gives? Thier HP numbers are unbelievable coming out of them sewing machines.
It's like they prey on me. I'll see them coming up in the rearview really fast behind me, almost kissing the bumper. I'll speed up but can't shake em. then they'll come around and take off. I had no chance. So what can i do to keep up?
Get some gears man. Depending on how you use your car, either 3.90 or 4.10. If you're thinking of getting forced induction in the future you may want to consider 3.73.

Is your car modded at all? Man some of those BMW's and Mercedes are running V8's and are very fast. Even some of the V6's are pretty quick for stock, then ya have Porsche which can be hard to beat (except for boxster). And those are pricy cars too man and on the highway will hit 150mph no problem and will keep pulling. But if ya really wanna spank them, get a supercharger.

The car is bone stock with the ecception of a CAI. Although I would eventually like to build up but don't know exactly where to start. Also how much would it cost me. Can I do these up grades with the stock engine? Can I use the 2v heads or do I need to change over to 3v-4v heads?
I'm really in no hurry to do this. As I'd mentioned, eventually, in time I'd like to build up. Also this would be usefull information. Thanks for your informative responces.
Money is the limiting factor. The stocl engine can probably take another 100hp, after that you're asking for it to blow. If I were you, I'd mount a howitzer on the roof, let 'em go by a blast that pos to itty bitty pieces.
Seriously, some of those cars are pretty fast. The first thing you should do is gears and a tuner, that'll give you the most for the money, and gears help a lot at any rpm, they really help you get the most acceleration out of the power you have.

That hunk of junk? Yeah, well I've made a few special modifications to that yellow 99 Gt, it makes the Kessel run in 12 parsecs and eats turbo japs and poops chevy's
You dont need a built engine to have a supercharger, just dont run too much boost. As long as you dont go too much over 400rwhp you will be more than fine and will be able to get away from those euro's anytime. If you cant supercharge yet, then get gears along with a tune and def some exhaust work. This will wake your stang up a whole lot.

most of these imports are geared for highway. do some mods, gears, headers and tuner etc etc,, and spank them from a dig in town. let them rule the highway for now. its all a matter of cha ching. A stock anything in a high end euro will be tuned for more performance than our stangs. but then again if you buy a gt500 kr and that puts you in the ballpark price range of some of these euro`s. they would be avoiding the humiliation.

Real races are from a dig, not a roll. That's where you need to be racing them if you want to have a better chance. Otherwise, get on the mod bug and you should be keeping up with them in no time

honestly, id build a kick butt suspension first. you may not think it makes a difference, but that would be a mistake. you need a good foundation before you start building a house. you know what i mean.

Translation: With a build suspension, you'll utilize all the power you have and put it to the tires where it belongs
