Default 1998 Mustang GT Cruise Control: Brakes Don't Work?

I have a 1998 Mustang GT, and when i set the cruise control on, my brakes won't operate correctly, they just lock-up. Any ideas?

when i use the brakes, i have to push the petal to the floor, its like the cruise control doesn't recognize the brakes being used or something. it will slow down a little, like 5 mph, then they'll lock up.

i have no idea what that is because your cruise control cable is connected to your throttle body no where near the brakes... thats possibly the most unusual thing i have ever heard... :/
