when i bought my mustang it already had the saleen super charger on it. the guy i bought it from said it has never been tuned, he just put a new chip in it so the computer could see it. it feels like im getting very little from the super charger right now. could it just need a tune done to it? i ran 13.4's at the track but i think i should be in the 12's. could there be something wrong with it or just a tune?

yeah that car should be running a heck of a whole lot faster!!!! the 4.10 going to mess with the traction, unless its an auto. but yeah go get it looked at and tuned!!! im running low 13's with my car and my sig is all i got. so yeah if anything its slowing u down

Do a compression check and look at the plugs, maybe even replace them. If you're losing that much power and not hearing weird noises from your blower, you may be looking at some engine repairs.

All good advice, I'm running n/a and I will outrun what your doing, you should be a lot faster with that setup. Check the compression and make sure the plugs are the right heat range for the blower. A dyno tune is essential. And if you don't have a boost gauge, get one, you need to know what psi its putting out. It may be as simple as having the wrong pulley on there, but you need a gauge and dyno tune to get her where she should be.

That hunk of junk? Yeah, well I've made a few special modifications to that yellow 99 Gt, it makes the Kessel run in 12 parsecs and eats turbo japs and poops chevy's
i have the series 4 to. car runs fine and has know noises but i know i should be getting more horses. that time of 13.4 is with a 1.8 60' , so i know i am getting out of the box alright. i do have stock h pipe on it right now to. thanks oh and it is at 10lb boost at 5800 rpm

The problem with these blowers is heatsoak and airflow. I was datalogging a few weeks ago, and at 70 degrees, cruising in 4th at 2k, I was seeing 115-125 degree IAT's, not bad at all! Well I did a WOT pass 2nd gear, and it jumped to 148-150, not too good. During the summer, I dont even WANT to know what my IAt's would of been.
I orderd the Chicane Intercooler for it. A friend of mine just installed his. For the past couple weeks he has been datalogging, and seeing 70-80 degree IAT's, jumping into the 90's after WOT passes... Says he saw 100-105 a few days after back to back pulls.
I just purchased mine and got it yesterday, I will be installing it this weekend. By preventing the heat soak, these blowers make 2x the amount of power.
IAT= Intake Air Temperature. The hotter your IAT's are, the more power you are going to lose. When IAT's get high, your car pulls timing. The more timing you pull, the more power you lose.
Low IAT's on supercharger, or turbo cars are KEY to make more power.
How do you monitor it. If you have an Xcal2 (Handheld tuner) plug it into your laptop using a usb to mini usb cable (printer cord will work). Plug the xcal into the OBD11 port (Under the dash, by the gas pedal), that goes into the usb cable, then the usb cable goes from the xcal to the laptop.
Go on SCT's website, and download livelink (datalogging software). Download it, and run the software. IF you need a step by step process let me know, and I can write one up for you.
Before you datalog, you will need:
1) Laptop
2) SCT XCAL 2/3
3) USB-Small USB cord
4)Version of livelink (downloaded) from above.
Now, to get started:
1) Plug your XCAL into the OBD11 port, under the dash near the gas pedal.
2) Turn on laptop, and open the livelink program.
3) Plug the USB cord into the Xcal/Computer.
** Once everything is hooked up, start the car.**
4) Click the graph Icon on the top of the screen (Under file in the top left).
5) You will then be able to see the parameters in which you want to view. You will see a list of options, with a +/- sign next to it. Click it to open it up, and you will see the different parameters in which you can click. Once you open up one of the options, click on the sub options that pop down and (check mark) the one you want to view. Once its checked, just move on down the list.
Once you have everything viewed, you will see a Green box on the top part of the screen (go). And a Redbox next to it (stop). click the green box to start the datalog. Now your XCAL will make a beeping noise, then it will take 5-10 seconds for it to start.
All of your options you want to see will be listed on the left hand side of the screen. Click (check mark) the option you want to view on the left hand side, and it will then show up on the graph (color coded). There will also be (4) gauges at the top, you can also view options in those as well. RPM, or anything. Just click it, and add what option you want to see.
When your finished with the datalog just hit the red box (stop) and it will stop, then just click (file) and then save. If you want a quick datalog just do a quick one, if you need or want a lenghty one, then make it lengthy!!
If you want to send someone a datalog just send them the file, but if you are RECEIVING the file, make sure when you open it, you open it in (LIVELINK). If you open livelink, click open (next to file) at the top, you can open it that way and view it. If you open a datalog file in an email, it will convert it into Excel, and its just a scramble of stuff. You can view it that way, but its ALOT easier in (livelink).
It really is not that difficult at all. Hopefully this is detailed enough. If you have any questions or concerns, let me know!
You can find a full write up at my website in my signature! Or shoot me a PM if you need help.

No prob Shawn, thanks for joining! There is ALOT of information on there pertaining the Saleen Iv blower.
Denscharger works, a Custom made one will work. I will look into some CAI's for you and let you know. You might want to step up to a 90mm MAF as well, that might help ya out.
If I were you I would look into the Mosaleen Custom Idler kit. I can get you the guys information if you would like.
