I'll try not to get too technical, but since you provided some of the cam specs, here is my two cents worth. The cam isn't the best choice unless you are planning to increase the gear ratio between 355:1 to 3.73, because of the 230/236 duration. Even though you have a cam with an 114 degree separation ( I found the specs for your cam on the internet), the duration has pushed up the optimal power band for your 4.6L, and that is why the numerically higher rear-end gear ratio is required in order to get the motor up into its optimal power band.
By the way, comp cams has a more streetable version that has the 500 lift and a 224/230 duration. All things equal, the cam you have chosen would be better on the track, but the lower duration cam would be a more streetable combination. However, any performance up grades are negated if the other person is a better driver. Expect to have a rougher idle with your cam over the other one mentioned.
In any case, I suggest that you talk to an expert for the cam manufacturer, because their recommendation will be ideal for your setup. Being at the tale end of the baby-boomer generation, I have spent hundreds of dollars in selecting cams. Being an engineer and mechanic over the last 20 years has given me a better insight on building hot street/stripe machines. Unfortunately, cam manufacturers didn't offer free advice and recomendations during that time. Since this thread is getting a bit long, I would like you to know that their are many cheaper options or items that give you the most bang for the buck.
