Question Another Gear Question...

So I was planning on going with gears next spring or late winter but I was wondering about what speed will my car top out at considering I have an '03 Automatic GT and I put 4.10's in it with tranny cooler, Trac-Lok Rebuild? I've top out at about 130-135 (For a reasonable reason, not just being an idiot.) I heard people pulling about 3000 RPM at about 80mph in O/D so I'm wondering what my top speed would be considering I'm not gonna blow my motor.

Its really hard to say for either one, it depends on how much power you have, the mechanical advantage of the gears makes it easier to accelerate, but the rpm's climb faster. I have 3.73 and have taken it a LOT faster than is smart (well past 140) without getting to redline, in theory unless you don't have much power you will lose some top speed, but in practice... dunno, never tried to top out my car when it was stock, but I can go a lot faster than any stock GT within the same rpm range. Unless you really mean to bury the speedo you'll never notice the difference and you'll accelerate much faster, especially in the hgher gears.

I got call that my gf was in horrible accident and those were all the details and she was about 20 miles away and it was early morning and no traffic on the highway so I punched it. I got there and her car was crumped, hit at 70mph dead impact on the driverside right at the firewall, ripped the motor of the mounts, pulled the fuel lines with it pouring gas over the headers and caught the car on fire the car was then pushed into a barrier wall (the second impact) Her door was jammed and she couldn't manage to break the window out so she managed to crawl through and open the passenger side door. It took the Fire Dp. about a half hour to get the fire out and as they put it out I look and saw the transmission coming up out of the floor pan and the door/front quarter panel was kicked in so far it obliterated the clutch and bent the brake pedal to touch the gas pedal. She was blessed to be alive and by a miracle she came out of it with only bumps, minor burns, and abraisions. That was my reason for hitting 135. I wasn't focusing on the speedo, but on driving carefully w/my foot to the floor and I just glanced at the speedo. In Cali when there is a "No details" accident and the officer is a first responder they will always run Code 3, unlike Fire or medical, police hardly run Code 3 and they run upwards of 110 when it is "safe". So that was my reasoning.

Edit: Keep in mind she was driving a 1994 Camaro Convertable
