My buddy is buying a blue 2004 mach 1 tomorow and its rating at 310hp where the GT is rated at 260. Whats the 50hp difference from besides the shaker setup?

The mach 1 has a 32v DOHC motor like the cobras. I believe they have an aluminum block and come with 3.55 gears. Also I've heard they have forged internals if it is a 5 speed. I'm not 100% sure on that one though.

The 5 spd has forged crank, other than that you have to upgrade everything else for high boost or power i believe. The shaker hood intake deal doesnt really make that much power, it just looks cool. They have a couple suspension upgrades.

Yeah, the big difference is the dohc compared to the Gt's sohc, which is a significant difference, it will also rev higher and respond a little more to mods.

The Machs have an DOHC aluminum block with a forged cranks. Same pistons as a GT. The Machs also have 13 inch brembos (like Cobras) sub frame connectors, Im pretty sure they have an under drive pulley set on them stock. They also look nasty lol

I dont think the Mach's have underdrive pulleys. However the DOHC is what separates the Mach and GTs. They are lowered and have bigger brakes. All around just a little bit better than a GT in every department, but if you spend the money a GT can be just as fast.
