Default Exaust pipe exit queston

Will the rear tires be effected by the heat if i have the exhaust exit right in front of them at a 45, like i have seen many times before. But what i want to know is will it damage either my tires or my wheels because of the heat?

it shouldnt because the exhaust coming out of it isnt nearly as hot as the metal pipe itself. keep in mind your tires warm up from driving because of the friction on the road. also when you are driving the air flow will dispurse the exhaust gases before theyll probably even reach the tire.

alright thank you. i was wondering what your thoughts are on getting pollished headers. I am only 17 and restoring my own 67 but some people say they will change colors because if the heat. And i can understand that. but if i will only take my car out everyone in a while because i have my daly driving, i dont think it will affect the finish of the headers. Whats your take?
