does anyone have a rough estimate on how much it cost's to have shorty headers installed in an "00" 4.6?
do it your self it's not that hard, make a weekend of it, throw it up on jack stands friday night should have them turnin blue by sunday, take your time and be patient, shorty's are easier than long tubes i would think by far? not sure on cost of install sorry!

I taked to a few shops in town about gt 2v headers, some wouldnt do it and one even quoted me at like 500 dollars just to install. everyone said its a nightmare. All for like 10 horsepower on shorties.

No, don't take it to the track, take it to your nearest industrial block. Line up next to someone with Alot of power. Jump the luanch, as soon as you hit 2nd, throw your flashers on and get off the gas. Proceed to talk mad isht about the other guy becuase you "pulled" him hardcore yo!
Ya thats what happend to me the other night with an 02 TA, We raced at a stop light, I roasted the **** out of my tires, (I mean like the worst launch ever, looked like I was tryng to do a burn out)then started to catch his ass in 2nd gear, As soon as I started to catch up, he let off. I mean just as soon as I cought up, bam, he hit his brakes hard! Then we did the 3 honks thing and I destroyed him in first, then we tried 2nd, destroyed him again all the way to 100 mph. By like 5 cars!
When we pulled over to talk, he kept saying "I think were pretty close man" I get you off the line, but you get me from a punch"
I bet thats not what he tells his friends? Its probally like " Man we were even on a punch, but I killed him off the line!
I can not floor it in first gear at all or it redlines and smokes the tires. I need street slicks bad or wider tires.

Airaid Makes an Intake that's really nice and it works without tuning the computer, it has an insert that is easily removed once you are ready to tune it. Then you can make even more power

It should whoop it. I know from experience. An 04 GT with those mods will make about 250 rwhp and about 280-290 rwtq... The 98 cobra will make about 260 260... So do the math and shift correctly, you will be golden
good track time comes down to allot of factors and the biggest one is practice. if you have never raced in the quarter before and you have a moded 2v na 4.6 your not going to pull off a 12 second pass. it takes a lot of getting to know your car in order to release its potential.
this is for soundwave3100. i have a 2001 mustang gt. 2 years ago i pulled the engine out to port and polish my heads. while i had the engine out i bought some sheap ford racing headers.(times were rough) they cost about 150 bucks. it wasnt that big of a deal with the engine out. well a couple of months ago i decided to put some long tubs on. i live in an appartment complex and i dont think i will ever do that again with out removeing the engine or the cradle. it took about 7 hours of honest work to do this. it was worth it but i would only do it with a lift next time. im going to say at a shop it would probly take about 4 hours to do.
yea..i just installed mine not to long ago(no pun intended ) anyway it took about 4 to 5 for the headers and another 2 taking everything off and putting everything back on in order to put them on
