Default Front wheel arch inner trim that goes around wheel well

It's come away.

if this is the car

rear =|__(__)__(x_)____\ front

It's come away where the x is, on the left hand side, and is hanging over the rear of the front wheel, occasionally making a nasty sound.

I have tried to push it up under the lip of the wing, but it doesn't seem to reach so I can't rest it there. There's around a 1cm gap between where the trim ends and the inner lip that its supposed to sit on.

I'm sure all the ice has had something to do with this I'm in Canada, its been snowing, and I've been getting a lot of ice around that area.

Any ideas on what I should do, was thinking about getting some plyers and giving it a good yank, then seeing if it will slip above the rim?

All this talk of lips and rims...

Thanks.
